He almost stole my cake 😳

Yesterday was my birthday and though I was working, I did manage to take several cake and cuddle breaks with Winston 😉

That slice of cake pictured below is from a British business called Get Baked. They sell enormous slices of chocolate cake — named “Bruce" and "Bertha" — based on Bruce Bogtrotter's cake in Matilda.

Isn’t it amazing?? I couldn’t manage the entire slice in one go of course. I had to take several small bites and have lots left over in the fridge for today.

Meet Daphne, the corgi who herds 1,200 sheep 🐑

This month, the Lancashire Evening Post ran a story about Daphne — a seven-year-old Pembroke in South Lakes, Cumbria, who works as a sheepdog. She stands just 25cm at the shoulder, but for five years she's helped move flocks of up to 1,200 sheep, staying behind the herd and barking on command to keep them moving. Her owner, Heather, says people are astonished — "we picture corgis lounging on cushions, not driving livestock."

But that working drive didn't vanish when corgis moved indoors! Now, you don't need 1,200 sheep to keep your corgi busy. But they do thrive on having a job. Channel that drive into something structured — scent work, a rolling herding ball, training — and you'll have a calmer, happier corgi for it <3
